1. Avoid overexertion:
Patients who undergo chemotherapy experiences significant fatigue and tiredness. Hence, they must avoid exertion and prepare their body for the next cycle. There are a number of methods you can use to prevent overexertion. Maintaining a good sleep cycle of at least 8 hours every night is one such step. Additionally, you can also take some extra afternoon naps. If required, reduce your working hours after your cancer treatment.
2. Avoid unhealthy lifestyle:
Avoid unhealthy lifestyle such as dietary habits, drinking alcohol, smoking and a sedentary lifestyle. Chemotherapy may cause nausea, fatigue, hyperacidity, and loss of appetite etc. But patients need to eat to maintain energy levels. Avoid eating large meals in one go. Instead, eating large meals in one go, eat small meals frequently. Avoid eating undercooked meat and seafood, spicy foods and food with a pungent smell. Such food can cause nausea or discomfort. Avoid over the counter medicines including vitamins and mineral supplements without consulting to your doctor. Such things can interfere in the efficacy of cancer treatment.
3. Avoid exposure to Infections:
Chemotherapy reduces immunity at certain level and hence avoid pathogenic exposure during this time period. Minimise going to public gatherings and crowded places as meeting more people increases the risk. Always wash your hands before eating, use hand sanitiser, and be careful while shaving or cutting nails. Eat only hygienic food and say no to leftovers. Do not share your towels or razors, with others.
4. Manage stress:
